OKC Thunder's James Harden meets fans at Raising Cane's

Raising Cane's Restaurant is the latest addition to the many restaurants already available in Edmond, Oklahoma. Yesterday, Sept. 27, James Harden was invited to the restaurant to interact with die-hard Oklahoma City Thunder fans. I was there as a photographer for The Vista to cover the event.

People waiting in line to meet James.

The Louvre has more to offer

Flipping through today's "The New York Times," I stumbled upon a really interesting article which is published in The Arts column called The Louvre's New Islamic Galleries Illuminate Centuries' Treasures

If you have not heard about The Louvre, here's a little background about this great museum. It is a central landmark in Paris, France and is known as one of the world's largest museum. This museum is housed in the Louvre Palace which began as a fortress built in the late 12th century under Phillip II.

I believe everyone knows about Italian artist, Leonardo Da Vinci's famous painting, Mona Lisa. Lo and behold, this original painting is hanging on display at The Louvre.

The new Islamic galleries at the Louvre are partly underground and topped with a undulating gold-hued canopy. This $125 million project took 10 years to complete. It will be opened to the public on this Saturday.

These are some of the artifacts which the public get to see at the galleries.  Certainly arts galleries have something to do with photography and they work closely with each other. The museum has to get a photographer to capture the arts the museum will be put on display as a mean of publicity. Besides that, photojournalists would be invited to take photos and write about the galleries for publicity too.

I strongly believe that photograph is a good way to promote an event, be it an art galleries or a product. I bet The Louvre will be pulled in a strong crowd who would love to visit this Islamic galleries after they read about it on The New York Times or on my blog.

Plaza District at Oklahoma City

What used to be an abandoned district was turned into an area filled with artsy atmosphere on weekends. This district is known as the famous Plaza District.

A couple of live bands were seen on the walkway performing their songs and music to entertain visitors like me. Last Friday, I was there for the very first time and I fell in love with this district.

I was amazed to see how this artist and his friend turned an old junk into a masterpiece. Some people might see it as vandalism, I say screw those people, it's an art. Appreciation of arts is part of the human civilization.

Even a kid enjoyed watching those artists spraying paints on the old Beatles. Of course he was somehow forced to be there by his momma. Anyway this piece of art was like a magnet, it drew a huge crowd and almost everyone took a photo of or with it.

This is The Parish, a place where artists can put up their artworks for display and for sale. It's doubled up as a church where Christians gather on Sunday for weekly service.

For you art lovers out there, if you have not been there before, make a trip down there and have a time of your life there and then. Have fun!

Evaluation

I chose to evaluate on this blog, a social media blog, which talks about how business integrates social media.

I like how the blogger includes graphic to illustrate his points. This would definitely help the readers to understand his points better. Besides that, he used another article he took from Forbes to strengthen his points. We know that Forbes is a well-known and reliable source, by using Forbes, he established credibility among his viewers.

Since my blog is about photography, I think I should follow his footsteps and used some credible sources to proof some of points. By doing so, it could be a 'Wow' factor that can impress my readers besides the great header photo I have up there.
