Many believes that UCO has become a more global community now because of the large number of International students enrolled here. The record shows that they're about 1,500 students from over 100 countries who are studying here. Yesterday, UCO held its 57th Annual International Festival at NUC Ballroom. International students from many different countries showcased their country, culture, and food at the festival.
Do you spot Professor Clark in this picture? :)
Some brave Americans trying out 'awesome' international food for the first time.
I interviewed this guy at the festival. His name is Benny Tham from Malaysia. He put up a Malaysians' sketch with friends who share the same culture and country with him. The name of the performance is called Dikir Barat, which include cultural songs and dances. "I learn many different cultures in the festival, especially from their booths and cultural performances." said Benny.
More performances. Nepali students represented.
Vietnamese students represented.
African students represented.
Pakistani students represented.
UCO is a melting pot for cultures and languages. As an International student myself, I witnessed that happen and it's a very healthy environment for learning.
